Today, Thursday (January 31st), the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, held an Inauguration and Graduation Ceremony for the odd semester graduates of the 2018/2019 academic year in the Auditorium of the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI-Pertamina), on the UI Campus, Depok. A total of 297 graduates graduated at the event, consisting of 212 undergraduate students, 80 master's students, and 5 doctoral students.
This odd semester graduation also marked a significant milestone for the undergraduate Geology and Statistics programs at FMIPA UI, as these programs produced their first graduates since their establishment in 2015.
In the 2018/2019 academic year, 44 undergraduate graduates earned cum laude honors, with the highest GPA of 3.96, achieved by Grady Christanto from the undergraduate mathematics program. Meanwhile, from the master's program, 32 graduates earned cum laude honors, with the highest GPAs of 3.99, achieved by Ahmad Husein Alkaff and Dwi Febriantini, both from the master's program in chemistry.
Cum laude honors were also achieved by doctoral graduates: Askal Maimulyanti (Doctoral Science, Chemistry) with a GPA of 3.94 and Santhyami (Doctoral Biology) with a GPA of 3.92.
With these achievements, Grady Christanto, Ahmad Husein Alkaff, Askal Maimulyanti, and Dwi Febriantini were among the top graduates of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), along with 18 others.
Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris, Dean of FMIPA UI and leader of the ceremony, expressed his pride in the achievements of the graduates in his remarks. He also advised students to continually develop themselves amidst globalization, utilizing their existing knowledge, particularly through research to produce technology and innovation.
He believes this will increase their contribution to solving various national problems. However, Haris believes that whatever profession they pursue, they must be able to contribute positively to the nation. He also hopes that graduates will maintain relationships with fellow alumni and the wider FMIPA UI family through all available channels, from social media to communication forums.
