The Persistent, United, Keen (PUK) FMIPA UI team consisting of Dylan Arlen Tunggatama (Actuarial 2020), Arundhati Naysa Ekhaputri (Mathematics 2020), and Deva Fitrianti Rahayu (Geophysics 2020) succeeded in bringing honor to FMIPA UI thanks to their achievements as winners of two championship titles at once, namely 1st Place and Favorite Champion of the Business Plan Competition “Young Entrepreneurs Project 2021”.

The national-level competition is a program organized by the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association of Diponegoro University, from September 13, 2021, to December 19, 2021.

Dylan, as the team leader, said that the idea came from the daily problems he faced when looking for an empty parking slot to park his vehicle when visiting a shopping center.

Dylan, as the team leader, said that the idea came from the daily problems he faced when looking for an empty parking slot to park his vehicle when visiting a shopping center.

The large parking area doesn't guarantee sufficient parking spaces for visitors who drive. They often have to spend time and money just searching for a parking space in the shopping center.

“This idea came from one of our daily problems, namely the difficulty nyari "Parking slots. There was a mall that had red and green parking sensors. But unfortunately, it still required a lot of driving around to find the green one. From there, I came up with the idea of creating a parking finder app so people could find parking more effectively and efficiently," Dylan explained, explaining the background to his innovation.

Regarding how it works, one of the team members, Nasya, explained that Parkzy is quite easy to use. Each sensor installed in the parking area inside the building is integrated into the app smartphone pengguna.

"Parking sensors are installed in all parking areas. When a car enters the parking area, the sensors send a signal to the app, indicating that the parking space is occupied," Naysa explained.

This way, drivers who want to park their vehicles can easily identify unoccupied parking slots. The app also has great potential for integration with various other applications maps such as Google Maps and Waze.

Furthermore, Parkzy opens up the prospect of collaboration with various digital payment applications such as Ovo and Gopay as an automatic parking fee payment method.

"Moreover, another feature of Parkzy is the ability to automatically make payments when the car leaves the sensor," he added.

The team hopes Parkzy's innovation can address the growing demand for vehicle mobility, which impacts the need for parking. This can provide a solution for urban residents who frequently park their vehicles for activities.
The PUK team admitted to gaining many benefits from participating in this competition, such as gaining valuable experience, expanding their knowledge and skills in the business field, improving their analytical and critical thinking skills, and much more.

Closing the interview, Deva, another member, advised fellow FMIPA UI students to always take advantage of available opportunities. He believes that the sooner you start, the better. Furthermore, there are many lessons to be learned from actively participating in competitions, one of which is the opportunity to explore our current selves.

Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (UI), Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation to the three. He stated that UI FMIPA students must be able to respond to challenges and provide solutions to problems in society, using the knowledge they gain from their studies.

"We truly appreciate the achievements of the UI Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Student Activity Unit (PUK FMIPA UI) team, who have strived to design and develop relevant innovations to address the challenges we face," said Dede.

He believes it is important for students to take advantage of opportunities outside of their academic activities to improve their other competencies, both academic and non-academic, through various competitions at the national and international levels.

One of them is through this kind of Business Plan Competition to improve skills, abilities and sense of business students, as well as encouraging FMIPA UI in producing new entrepreneurs who will become the seeds of the nation's economic pillars.

"Hopefully, this achievement can be continued by other students at FMIPA UI by actively participating in various competitions," he added.
