Depok, FMIPA UI once again participated in the education exhibition organized by the Public Relations Office and KIP of the University of Indonesia, namely UI Open Days. This UI-wide education exhibition took place on Saturday (9/2) to Sunday (10/2) at the UI Hall, Depok.
The event, which was held for the 07th time, presented information related to study programs at UI from the Regular S1, Parallel S1, International Special Class S1, Extension S1, Vocational (D3) to Postgraduate (Masters and Doctoral). In addition, information related to entry routes and about lectures at UI was also discussed in this event.
A total of more than 30,000 people visited UI Open Days 2019, they came from various regions in Indonesia. Most of them were high school students who would soon continue their education to college. They hoped to be able to study at the University of Indonesia.
In addition, several parents of students were also seen visiting UI Open Days 2019, and there were also several prospective postgraduate students (Masters & Doctoral).
The FMIPA UI booth itself was not free from the crowd of visitors. Recorded in the attendance list, every day more than 500 visitors crowded the Faculty booth which was dominated by a blue and black backdrop decoration. Most of them wanted to know about the newly opened study program at FMIPA UI, namely the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Study Program (Prodi).
Although the study program was officially opened 2 years ago, it is still a special attraction for visitors to the FMIPA UI booth. This is because the Actuarial Science study program is still unfamiliar to high school students.
To stand guide FMIPA UI consisting of public relations and final year students provided information about the new study program to visitors. Starting from the entrance path to take the FMIPA UI Actuarial Science S1 study program, namely SBMPTN, SNMPTN and SIMAK, to the opportunities and roles of becoming an actuary in the financial industry.
In addition to looking for information on the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Study Program, many visitors also ask about other undergraduate study programs at FMIPA UI, namely Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Geology and Geophysics.
On the second day, visitors had the opportunity to watch a presentation about FMIPA UI lectures starting from the entrance pathway, study programs, tuition fees to the courses and learning methods they will get after being accepted as FMIPA UI students.
This presentation was delivered directly by Dr. Ratna Yuniati as the Education Manager of FMIPA UI. Through this activity, it is hoped that visitors to UI Open Days 2019 can obtain the information they need.
