Arrizqy Nadya, a student of the 2019 Undergraduate Geography Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), is one of two delegates from the University of Indonesia selected as recipients of the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) Visiting Student Program at Ajou University, South Korea. This program is an implementation of the collaboration between the University of Indonesia and Ajou University.

Nadya plans to fly to South Korea on August 26, 2022. At Ajou University, Nadya will attend lectures for one semester with a focus on Business Administration studies. Business Administration.

Since being announced as having passed the selection on July 5, 2022, the owner of the full name Arrizqy Nadya Khairunissa Yulianto has prepared various travel documents and administrative matters required by Ajou University.

Previously, Nadya had gone through a selection stage with a fairly high level of competition. A total of 240 students from all over the world registered for this program in order to gain experience studying in the Ginseng Country.

Moreover, currently, in addition to being a fairly popular student exchange destination, South Korea has also become the most popular tourist destination, especially for KPop lovers. This is because it increasingly strengthens South Korea's appeal in the eyes of the world community. In fact, it is not uncommon for student exchanges to be a way for students to travel to this developed country at the same time.

However, the full owner of Arrizqy Nadya Khairunissa Yulianto revealed that based on her experience, the selection process to obtain a scholarship like this is not easy. Because, in addition to academic grades, academic and non-academic achievements, writing skills personal statement and study plan also takes a large weight in the assessment.

Apart from attending lectures, Nadya and other participants in the student exchange program also had the opportunity to appear in International Festival Day which is scheduled in every fall semester to promote the arts and culture of their home countries.

This moment will certainly be very interesting, because they will present a variety of arts and cultures from their respective countries through traditional food, traditional musical instruments, and regional traditional clothing.

Dean of FMIPA UI Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. gave his appreciation to Nadya. The Dean said that it is important for students to participate in student exchange programs to improve their experience. international exposure or international exposure.

The Dean assessed that this international exposure can encourage the development of students' knowledge not only in the academic field, but also be able to explore affective and psychomotor skills such as critical thinking, intellectual problem solving, communication skills, collaboration and creativity.

"In addition to developing their potential in the international arena, and learning from other foreign students, in this program students can also become ambassadors for the University of Indonesia, especially FMIPA UI," said the Dean.

For information, the Global Korea Scholarship is a scholarship program for international students initiated by the South Korean government. Previously, this scholarship was known as the KGSP (Korean Government Scholarship Program).

Through this GKS program, the South Korean Government hopes to provide valuable experience for foreign students through culture and education, as well as strengthen global competence for universities in South Korea.
