FMIPA UI Pre-Graduation Ceremony Odd Semester Academic Year 2023/2024, A New Milestone for 320 Graduates

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) held a Pre-Graduation Ceremony for 320 odd semester graduates of the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of 235 undergraduate graduates, 76 master's graduates, and 9 doctoral graduates, Thursday (22/2/2024), at the Sinarmas Hall, Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building, FMIPA UI - PT Pertamina (Persero), UI Campus, Depok.

Dean of FMIPA UI Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. led the event. In his remarks, he congratulated all graduates for completing their education at FMIPA UI well.

"Congratulations on the success of the graduates of the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs who have completed their education at our beloved campus, FMIPA UI," said Prof. Dede starting his remarks.

Congratulations and gratitude were also conveyed by Prof. Dede to the professors, academic senate, department heads, study program heads, FMIPA UI lecturers, and education staff who have guided and helped all FMIPA UI students towards their graduation

In particular, he also gave appreciation to graduates who managed to achieve the highest achievements, namely cum laude and summa cum laude predicates. He said, of all graduates, 58 of them achieved cum laude predicates, consisting of 29 graduates from the Department of Mathematics, 6 graduates from the Department of Physics, 11 graduates from the Department of Chemistry, 4 graduates from the Department of Biology, and 8 graduates from the Department of Geography.

There are 12 graduates with summa cum laude predicate, namely Yaseen Fajrie Yudha Ghozali and Angelica Patricia Djaya Saputra from the Mathematics Undergraduate Study Program, Ferdinand Tori, Dylan Arlen Tunggatama and Irene Patricia Wibowo from the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Study Program, M. Dio Danarianto from the Physics Masters Study Program, Lia Meilawati from the Chemistry Masters Study Program, Nadhifa Tazkia Ramadhani from the Biology Masters Study Program, Dewi Gafuraningtyas from the Geography Masters Study Program, Ahmad Royani from the Materials Science Doctoral Study Program, and Amarasinghe Achchige Thasun and Sri Widiyanti Rahayu Hilia from the Biology Doctoral Study Program.

"This achievement is proof of your dedication and hard work in pursuing knowledge and excellence," said Prof. Dede which was then greeted with warm applause from the graduates.

According to him, student achievement is also supported by the quality of teaching staff with performance that is getting better every year. This also encourages the achievement of the 2023 FMIPA UI performance contract with a percentage of 125.5%.

"I would also like to thank and congratulate the FMIPA UI community for exceeding the 2023 annual performance target, with an overall achievement percentage reaching 125.5%. As for 12 of the 14 strategic targets, they have been recorded as exceeding the target mandated by the UI Chancellor," he added.

To all graduates, Prof. Dede emphasized that this Pre-Graduation moment is a new historical milestone for carving out brilliant achievements in the future. Graduates need to interpret the achievements that have been achieved as proof of intelligence, perseverance, and dedication, as well as a reflection of their resilience in facing challenges, including digital challenges that change the way you learn, work, and survive.

"With the enthusiasm and knowledge that you have gained, let us together explore the limitless ocean of knowledge in this digital world and continue to innovate for a future full of hope," said Prof. Dede in closing his remarks.

At the end of the event, the graduates had the opportunity to take photos with the Dean individually, not only that, they also took group photos with the board of professors, colleagues from the same study program, heads of study programs, and heads of their respective departments on stage.
