Geography is the study of all human and natural activities and their interactions through a spatial perspective, leading to the formation of specific spatial patterns.
A holistic understanding of these phenomena can create conceptual insights, spatial and applicative thinking skills to be utilized in various fields of work: regional planning and development, environmental management, forestry, mining, energy, industry, transportation, banking, management, marketing, education, and more.
The Department of Geography offers two study programs: undergraduate and postgraduate programs. We have three areas of specialization: Physical Geography, Regional Planning and Geographic Information Systems. In these three specializations, our teaching staff are involved in four research groups: Landscape Dynamics, Socioeconomic Transformation, Political Ecology, and Spatial Information Technology for Life..
