FMIPA UI Students Participate in Summer Course Activities at Universiti Teknologi Petronas

A total of fifteen FMIPA UI students participated in the activity summer course in the Student Mobility activities of the Petronas University of Technology. They come from several departments, namely the Department of Geosciences Afifah Luthfiyyah, Anindia Kusuma Winahyu, Darin Alya Khairunnisa R, Dhandi Maulana Y, Dian Nur Setiani, Nur Fatwa Oryza Ayu Alivia, and Muhammad Alzaid Poinka, the Department of Geography Bima Adnanta Setyawan, Diki Nurul Huda, Muhammad Habib Maksum A, the Department of Biology Dinda Shezaria Hardy L and Saika Faradila, the Department of Chemistry Iluk Hayuningtyas, and the Department of Physics Aldey Wahyu Putra.
For approximately two weeks undergoing summer course At Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, they carry out several activities including short course dengan mendatangkan lecture from the UTP Geosciences Department and Companies in the Oil and Gas Sector such as Schlumberger, Beicip-Franlab Asia, and others.
In addition, activities were also carried out field trip located at Kek Look Tong Cave, Perak Cave Temple, and Gunung Lang with an explanation of regional geology by Mr. Choong Chee Meng M.Sc, in this place they were given an explanation of the history, rock formation process, geomorphological forms, and types of rocks in the Kinta Valley area, Perak, Malaysia.
"UTP Student Mobility activities are very helpful in understanding more about the oil and gas world, especially related to seismic methods. In addition to learning, this program introduced me to the culture in Perak, Malaysia and provided an overview of the learning system at UTP," said Darin.
Not only that, Dinda as a biology student explained that by joining the program she could see the perspective of biology related to its relationship with geoscience and its application in the real world. Through the program, she could learn about the learning environment in other countries, food, culture, and of course add to her relationships and experiences. She hopes that more and more FMIPA UI students can join this kind of program.
It is hoped that the activities summer course UTP Student Mobility can be implemented every year through the collaboration that has been built by FMIPA UI and UTP so that students can exchange insights and get to know learning in different countries.
