FMIPA UI student from the Geography study program 2018 who is a member of the UI Taekwondo UKM, Syahda Arquette Sedana, successfully brought home two championship titles in the national taekwondo championship.
The first championship title, namely 1st place Speed Kicking Senior Women at the Bharaduta Open 2 National Taekwondo Championship held online by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMENPORA RI) and the Indonesian Taekwondo Executive Board (PBTI) on September 11-12, 2021.
Meanwhile, the second champion title was 1st place. Speed Kicking Senior Women at the 2021 Universitas Gadjah Mada Taekwondo Championship (UGMTC) National Championship which was also held online on 24-26 September 2021.
In the match class Speed Kicking, participants are asked to do a kick shadow or a kick that hits the target (patching) with the greatest number in a certain time. At the Bharaduta National Taekwondo Championship which was attended by 1,300 athletes, Syahda managed to record a total score of 6.20 from kicks. shadow which is done for 60 seconds.
Meanwhile, at the 2021 UGMTC National Championship which was attended by 388 athletes, Syahda managed to record a total score of 6.7667 from kicks on the target (patching) which is also done within 60 seconds.
Participating in two taekwondo championships in a short time was not easy for Syahda. He admitted that he had to manage his time as effectively as possible, because this championship was also followed by the busy schedule of studying, internships, and teaching.
"The challenge I face is time management. The busyness of studying, interning, and teaching makes me have to divide my time and be consistent in providing time to practice taekwondo," said Syahda.
"Even so, with the drive to achieve, I still try to survive and give my best in every championship I participate in. I have to be responsible for completing the choices I have made," continued the woman who is also the Secretary of the UI Taekwondo UKM.
In the future, Syahda hopes that he will not feel complacent and complain quickly. Syahda said that he will continue to be enthusiastic in practicing taekwondo, whatever the situation and conditions.
