Visit and Public Lecture by Prof. Ryota Nagasawa

Thursday (21/3), FMIPA UI received a visit from Prof. Ryota Nagasawa (Tottory University), in the context of FMIPA UI's research discussion and training in the field of remote sensing.

The arrival of Prof. Ryota Nagasawa was warmly welcomed in meeting room A, FMIPA UI Dean's Building by the Vice Deans, Head of the Geography Department, Cooperation Manager, Head of International and Public Relations, and several teaching staff of the Geography Department, FMIPA UI.

Dr. Djoko Triyono as Deputy Dean for Field I of FMIPA UI supports the realization of research collaboration between the Department of Geography, FMIPA UI and Totory University.

In line with Djoko, Dr. Supriatna M.T. said, to achieve the target in research collaboration and international cooperation, discussion and collaboration with professors from abroad are needed, so that quality human resources and papers can be produced.

After the discussion on collaboration and cooperation, Prof. Ryota Nagasawa continued his visit by delivering a public lecture. The series of activities that lasted until Wednesday (3/4) involved undergraduate students (Geography, Geology, Geophysics), postgraduate students (Ocean, Physics, and Geography) and doctoral students of Physics Science.

The material given in this public lecture is themed "Land Use/Cover Analysis for Landscape Ecology". Through the material, he explains things about the environment and ecology that can be known through land use data using remote sensing technology.

And for the next few days at FMIPA UI, Prof. Ryota Nagasawa will deliver a discussion and public lecture with the students and teaching staff involved. The discussion and public lecture include Basic of Remote Sensing, Remote Sensing Application, Applied Remote Sensing for Agriculture.
