The Community Service Team (Pengmas) of FMIPA UI led by Dr. Dewi Susiloningtyas, (Lecturer of the Department of Geography, FMIPA UI) implemented the UI Action Program for the Nation with the theme "Development of Spatial Game Products for the Situ Working Group as an Effort to Improve the Sustainability of Situ Pengasinan, Depok City" in the Situ Pengasinan area, Sawangan, Depok on Sunday (11/15/2020). This program is a continuation of the program that was previously implemented in October 2019.
Unlike the previous year which used monopoly as a game product, this year's program carries the traditional quartet game as a media for introducing the program. As is common in quartet games, the Community Service Team created 11 themes related to the condition of Situ Pengasenan. The themes consist of the function of the site, tourism, sources of damage to the site, social aspects of the site, culture, economy, environment, markers (point of interest), parties involved, preservation of the site, ecotourism potential.
Dr. Dewi Susiloningtyas as the Team Leader explained, "This program is motivated by UI's concern for the problems that occur in the community around Depok City, one of which is the Situ Pengasinan area. The success and enthusiasm of last year's program participants made this program possible for us to continue this year."
The purpose of this activity, continued Dr. Dewi, is to provide counseling and information to the surrounding community about the concern for the preservation of the lake which is often visited by local residents as a recreational or relaxing tourist area. At the end of the speech, the program that has been held twice, is expected to continue until the following year.
The FMIPA UI community service team involved the Situ Pengasinan Working Group Team who were also residents of the Pengasinan sub-district as participants. This activity was carried out through several stages, starting from planning, compiling materials, making game boards (quartets) to surveying the Situ Pengasinan area.
How to play is participants are divided into three groups, each group consists of three students and two participants. Each group plays a quartet or picture card game by discussing themes about Situ Pengasinan. At this stage, participants are not only invited to play, but also trained and educated to identify conditions in the water tourism area in Depok, starting from tourism, culture, to damage that often occurs. The game continues by filling in blank cards containing hopes and development suggestions from the Pokja Team related to the card themes and what has not been done in Situ Pengasinan.
At the end of the activity, each group exchanged ideas to find out what problems had not been resolved in Situ Pengasinan. Several groups included the same idea regarding the addition of a culinary theme of typical food, as well as the theme of fixing the main problems of damage that occurred there.
