The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) received a grant of survey device technology from PT Datascript worth IDR 2.5 billion for the development of educational facilities and research for environmental sustainability. The symbolic handover of the grant was carried out by Fernando Handinata as Business Unit Director of PT Datascrip to Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Sc., Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration of FMIPA UI in the H.105 meeting room of the Department of Geography, FMIPA UI, Depok, on Tuesday (14/3/2023).
This grant was provided by PT Datascrip in order to carry out its corporate social responsibility in the fields of education and the environment. Through this grant, PT Datacsrip stated that it wanted to support the development of earth science education and research for environmental sustainability through survey device technology.
Fernando Handinata, through a shared release, said, "We are very pleased to be able to synergize with FMIPA UI as one of the educational institutions that has an important role in preserving the environment through its research, while also preparing experts for the future".
The donated survey device technology consists of one set of 3D Laser Scanner Z+F IMAGER, one set of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) CHCNAV N72, one Leica BLK3D unit, four Acer HeatFinder units, and one BenQ 65-inch interactive monitor unit.
Dean of FMIPA UI Dede Djuhana Ph. D. expressed his gratitude for the survey device grant provided by PT Datascrip.
He hopes that the device can support the research process in the FMIPA UI environment in conducting more accurate and efficient observations, measurements, and data analysis in earth research.
He also ensured that the survey device will be used for scientific development in the form of practical lectures, research activities, and field studies.
Furthermore, he hopes that the use of the device can produce skilled human resources and reputable research.
"We would like to thank PT Datascrip for the grant in the form of this device technology. Of course, this grant is very helpful for us in the research process to obtain accurate and detailed data on the environment, so that it can be used as a basis for formulating the right solution in maintaining environmental sustainability," said Dean Dede.
FMIPA UI, continued the Dean, has a vision and mission to improve academic reputation both nationally and internationally, one of which is being able to contribute to sustainable development.
"So, in realizing its vision and mission, FMIPA UI continues to conduct various research to produce innovative, quality, and beneficial breakthroughs for the community," he added.
