FMIPA UI Wins MAPRES UI 2017

Yudisthira Oktaviandie, an undergraduate student in the Biology program at FMIPA UI, was selected as the winner of MAPRES UI 2017. His victory was announced during the UI 2017 Student Achievement Appreciation Night on Friday (April 21, 2017) at Balairung, UI Depok Campus. Odie excelled with his research entitled Photobireactor Offshore Photobioreactor for the Production Biofuel Biofuel Genetically Engineered Microalgae-Based Biofuel as a Sustainable Energy Solution in Indonesia.” In addition, Odie also received the title of Best MAPRES in the Curriculum Vitae (CV) and SAINTEK Cluster categories. With this victory, Odie will represent UI in the National Student Achievement Selection, competing with other Outstanding Students from universities across Indonesia in July 2017.

The evaluation system for the 2017 UI Main Student Achievement Award (MAPRES) is based on assessment of the CV, scientific work and presentation, psychotests, and English proficiency. MAPRES participants are also required to conduct research in their respective fields of study with topics relevant to the current needs of Indonesian society.

With the theme “Outstanding University of Indonesia Students for the Advancement of the Nation,” the 2017 UI Student Achievement Appreciation Night is expected to recognize student accomplishments and continuously encourage UI students to engage in positive activities on campus and in the community, both academically and non-academically, accompanied by positive personal attitudes and character.
