Tuesday (28/6/2022), Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. accompanied by his staff received a visit from the delegation of the Department of Chemistry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Makassar, in meeting room A, Dean's Building, UI Campus, Depok.
The purpose and objective of the visit of the delegation consisting of Prof. Ahyar Ahmad, Ph.D. (Head of the Doctoral Program in Chemistry), Dr. Hasanah Natsir (Head of the Masters Program in Chemistry), Dr. St Fauziah, M.Si (Secretary of the Department of Chemistry), and Dr. Nur Umriani Primitasari, M.Si. (UGM Department of Chemistry) was to conduct benchmarking to the Chemistry Study Program (Prodi) FMIPA UI.
Prof. Ahyar, as the head of the delegation, explained that this benchmarking is one of the Unhas Chemistry Department's activity programs to exchange and obtain information about the curriculum, SOPs, guidelines for implementing study programs, and others.
"We are doing this in preparation for the superior accreditation of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral study programs at the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University," said Prof. Ahyar.
Meanwhile, Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., in his presentation, outlined the academic and non-academic profiles of FMIPA UI, including departments, study programs, and national and international accreditations currently in process and already obtained, research and academic collaborations with domestic and international partners, the Independent Learning (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) program, academic community innovations, and community service activities.
Supporting facilities such as laboratories, as well as special work units which are units for consulting services, training, laboratory testing and certification in the field of applied science, were also not left out of the discussion.
"Everything we do is an effort to support the realization of FMIPA UI's vision of becoming a leading science faculty capable of playing a role at the global and regional levels in advancing scientific development and sustainable development," said Dean Dede.
Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs of FMIPA UI Dr.rer.nat. Budiawan said that the field he leads is the backbone of the university, one of which is in terms of achieving an international reputation for the University which must be realized, among others, through increasing student achievement, research results, and increasing reputable national and international journals.
"The focus of our activities is indeed collaboration, research, and academic collaboration with international partners. To achieve this, we currently have programs at the UI level, including student inbound and outbound programs and the Independent Learning and Independent Campus program," said Vice Dean Budiawan.
Following the presentation agenda by the Dean and Vice Dean for Field 1, the Unhas delegation, accompanied by the Head of the Chemistry Department, Dr. Asep Saefumillah, departed for the Chemistry Department Building, FMIPA UI. There, the Unhas delegation had the opportunity to visit the UI Chem and Instrumentation Laboratory and the Basic Chemistry laboratory. Still taking place at the Chemistry Department, the event then continued with a Presentation and Discussion agenda with the Head of the Chemistry Department regarding the profile of the Chemistry Department, including the Postgraduate Program, Superior Accreditation, and MBKM.
This activity was also attended by Dr. Lukmanda Evan Lubis (Manager of Cooperation, Ventures, and Alumni Relations, FMIPA UI), and Muhammad Ridwan, M.Eng., Ph.D. (Head of the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program, FMIPA UI).
