Anita Dwi Puspita (Geography 2019) and Eva Dwi Jayanti (Geography 2019) won the title of champion in the Podcast Competition held by PRIDE Universitas Multimedia Nusantara 2021. This was announced online on April 30, 2021. This year's PRIDE carries the theme "New Normal, New Ideas” where podcast branch participants are asked to discuss or market a product from one of the event’s sponsors.
One of the members, Anita, revealed that she had once been interested in the world of radio broadcasting. When Anita saw the PRIDE UMN 2021 information, He was interested in registering and invited one of his close friends, Eva. His offer was well received by Eva. Until finally, they decided to launch their first podcast channel entitled Raepod (Random Podcast with Eva and Anita).
Even though they are just starting out in the podcast world, they are still trying to be confident in being able to compete with dozens of other participants. Anita and Eva believe that the key to making an interesting podcast is to be all out.
“With a short time frame, minimal knowledge about podcasts, and having to start from 0 (because Raepod is only a few months old), all effort We can be said to be more numerous than the other participants. But, with the two of us being friends since freshmen, knowing each other's natures, and being able to rely on each other, we finally managed to get Raepod to this point," said Eva, telling the story of the struggle behind her success.
"In addition, we also always try to research as detailed as possible. Almost in every sentence we utter it based on journals and other valid sources. Basically, we want our podcast content to provide information that is useful to the public, but with a relaxed delivery according to our idea when we first launched Raepod," he added.
Anita and Eva also admitted that the most difficult challenge in putting together their podcast was when recording.
“The hardest thing is finding time to recording because we both always have obstacles if we want to recording, for example, there are many people at home, the sound of motorbikes, small children running, and so on. So, if we... recording always midnight. But, actually still encounter other obstacles too sih because it was already too late, so we were also too tired. At some point, kita akhirnya harus record many times,” said Eva.
“Pas brainstorming It's also quite difficult, especially if the podcast theme is outside our realm. So, we have to do research first, find the right and valid sources so that the information we provide can beback up scientifically,” added Anita.
At the end of the discussion session with the FMIPA UI Public Relations Team, Anita and Eva advised that we as students can make the best use of our time. Especially during the current pandemic where there are many opportunities for competitions and everything can be done with more flexible time. In addition, we can also invite our closest friends to compete together and motivate each other.
PRIDE 2021 is an annual event organized by Communication Science Students of Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN). With the main theme "New Normal, New Ideas", PRIDE 2021 launched four branches, namely, Podcast, E-Poster, Integrated Marketing Communication, dan Marketing Public Relation. The podcast competition timeline starts from registration and submission (March 24 – April 21, 2021) to the announcement of the winners (April 30, 2021).
