Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (UI) Holds Virtual Halalbihalal Gathering

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UI, held a virtual Halalbihalal activity in the context of Eid al-Fitr 1441 H on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 via the application video conference, zoom meeting. The theme for this year's Halalbihalal gathering is "Protecting Yourself During the Pandemic."

The activity began with the reading of the activity schedule by Annisa Nurul Fitri as Moderator, then continued with the reading of a prayer by Ustadz Ahmad Yasin, SQ., S.Sos.I., M.Ag who is the founder of the Fantastic Al-Quran Tahfizh Islamic Boarding School in Depok. After the reading of the prayer, the activity continued with remarks represented by the Chair of the Board of Professors of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Terry Mart and the Dean of FMIPA UI, Dr. Rokhmatuloh, S.Si., M.Eng.

In his remarks, the Dean of FMIPA UI stated that FMIPA UI is ready to implement a blended learning system, namely combining face-to-face learning systems on campus with online learning systems in the coming semester.

The event then continued with a sermon delivered by Ustadz Abdi Kurnia, S.H., M.A., a lecturer in Islamic Studies at the University of Indonesia. He emphasized that forgiving is a crucial key to self-care during this year's Eid al-Fitr celebration, which must be celebrated amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We can only live and practice the principle of forgiveness when our hearts are open. That's why during Ramadan, we are encouraged to increase our repentance (istighfar), as one of the benefits of istighfar is to calm the heart," said Ustadz Abdi.

Following the sermon, the event continued with a Quran recitation by Ustadz Ahmad Yasin. The event concluded with Eid al-Fitr greetings from several FMIPA UI officials, including the Chair of the FMIPA UI Professors' Council and the Chair of the FMIPA UI Alumni Association (ILUNI).
