Jakarta, Thursday (March 1) — FMIPA UI held an audience meeting with the Ministry of Tourism at the Sapta Pesona Building. The delegation from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), led by the Dean of FMIPA UI, Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris, was warmly welcomed by the Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya. He was accompanied by the Assistant Deputy for Human Resource Development and Inter-Institutional Relations, Wisnu Bawa Tarunajaya; the Assistant Deputy for Natural and Man-Made Tourism Development, Alexander Reyaan; and the Special Staff for IT, Sam Sriyono.

During the meeting, discussions focused on a report and conceptual framework for monitoring international and domestic tourists in Indonesia. The audience meeting was a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and the University of Indonesia. After listening to the presentation from UI, the participants proceeded to the War-Room to review the monitoring system owned by the Ministry of Tourism.
As part of the collaboration, the Minister of Tourism offered cooperation to enhance or further study the existing system, provided that it meets the primary requirement of aligning with the best global benchmark standards. The meeting concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photo.
