PSAF MIPA UI 2016 “Igniting the Spirit of Young Scientists”

Today, Monday, August 15, 2016, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UI held the 2016 Faculty Academic System Introduction (PSAF) activity. The activity entitled "Igniting the Spirit of Young Scientists" was attended by the Dean of FMIPA UI,, Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris, Deputy Dean for Field 1, Prof. Ridla Bakri, M.Phil., Vice Dean for Field 2 Dr. Rokhmatulloh, M.Eng., Managers, Coordinators of Academic Quality Assurance Units, Heads of Departments, and Heads of Study Programs within the FMIPA UI Environment.

The event was opened by Dr. Tito Latif Indra as the Manager of Cooperation, Venture & Mahalum and the Head of PSAF MIPA 2016. In the report of the Head of PSAF, he said that the number of new students of FMIPA UI 2016 increased, this year FMIPA UI accepted 914 students, he hopes that with the increasing number of students, FMIPA UI can further improve itself in terms of improving facilities, laboratories, and so on.

In his speech, Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris introduced the leaders of FMIPA UI to all new students of FMIPA UI in 2016. He also motivated the new students to study smartly and seriously because FMIPA UI students have very broad career opportunities both domestically and abroad. He also emphasized to his new students to prioritize academic interests and activities, and to report to the leaders of FMIPA UI if there are parties giving students tasks that are not related to academics. Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris emphasized that all faculty leaders have high attention to their students' studies, and character building in new students is an important thing as the main foundation in pursuing education at FMIPA UI.

The activity which will be held until Saturday, August 20, 2016 aims to introduce the world of campus including: faculty organizational structure, student organizational structure, facilities and infrastructure, educational activities, student affairs, and extracurricular activities that can be followed while being a student.

This activity is expected to increase the role and responsibility of students in the learning process that will be followed, foster concern for the environment at FMIPA UI, arouse enthusiasm to advance the world of science in Indonesia, and be ready to become creative and innovative professional scientists.
