Saturday (25/9/2021), the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia held a virtual Even Semester Graduation ceremony for the 2020-2021 Academic Year for all graduates totaling 670 people, consisting of 544 Bachelor's graduates, 118 Master's graduates, and 8 Doctoral graduates.
The ceremony was officially opened by Dr. Rokhmatuloh, M.Eng. as the Acting Dean of FMIPA UI. In his speech, he conveyed several developments that FMIPA UI has achieved in improving its reputation.
This development, the opening of the program degree by research for master's and doctoral levels, then there is a fast track program (Fast Track) from undergraduate level to master's level, master's level to doctoral level, or undergraduate level to doctoral level with a shorter study period compared to the normal path.
FMIPA UI also organizes a program Credit Earning based on MOOCs intended for all students throughout Indonesia and also the general public as an effort to support the Independent Learning Independent Campus program.
On the other hand, FMIPA UI also establishes various collaborations and research collaborations with international partners, including the inauguration of several laboratories which are the result of this collaboration.
"Currently, FMIPA UI continues to strive to improve its reputation and at the same time be adaptive to developments in the world of higher education in Indonesia by implementing several strategic policies," said Dr. Rokhmatuloh.
He added that FMIPA UI is ready to hold face-to-face lectures at the end of October 2021. So currently, related units at FMIPA are busy with various preparations to welcome face-to-face lectures so that these activities can run as expected.
"Next semester, we all hope that we can carry out the teaching and learning/lecture process. face‐to‐face back to compensate for learning loss that occurred during several semesters during the Covid-19 pandemic," he added.
On the same occasion, he also expressed his pride and appreciation for the achievements of the graduates. He emphasized that FMIPA UI alumni must be tough individuals, who are able to keep up with the times with their respective knowledge and expertise that have been provided during their education at FMIPA UI.
"The challenges ahead are getting tougher, the complexity of life is getting higher, the world is getting more borderless, changes are happening faster, so that it requires quick, comprehensive and big impact decisions. Therefore, FMIPA UI graduates need to continue to develop core competence each, develop good communication skills, build strong collaboration, always be adaptive and innovative to survive in their respective careers and lives. We also need to convey that currently we already have a fairly representative Alumni Lounge space that will be the center of alumni engagement to continue to connect with our beloved alma mater FMIPA UI," said the Acting Dean.
In closing, he expressed his hope that the alumni would be able to apply their knowledge as best they could in their role in society and the industrial world, and always uphold the values of their alma mater.
"And we hope that FMIPA UI graduates will be able to become leaders,nnovator and problem solver in society. Finally, we hope that our brothers and sisters can continue to maintain the good name and uphold the alma mater that we love,” he said as a closing remark.
The event that has been awaited by graduates along with their parents and companions is also the most memorable moment with the announcement of the names of the twenty-four best graduates from all study programs in this even semester. FMIPA UI specifically provides certificates of appreciation for the best graduates. Certificates can be obtained together with Diplomas.
The graduation moment which was broadcasted live on the FMIPA UI Official YouTube channel was also attended by Professors, Chairpersons and members of the Academic Senate, vice deans, managers and Heads of Academic Quality Assurance Units, Heads of Departments, Heads of Study Programs, teaching staff at FMIPA UI, and leaders of FMIPA UI partners, including Mrs. Dahlia Cakrawati S. (Deputy of PKN BAPETEN), Mr. Yudi Pramono (Head of P2STPIBN BAPETEN), Dr. Maman Sudarisman (Head of Pusdiklat BMKG), Mr. Ardi Wedhatama (Head of Business Development Capture, Worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Web Services) and, Bimo Yuwono Arie Prabowo (Education Account Lead Indonesia Amazon Web Services).
