Today (2/5/2019), at Building B, Room 101, FMIPA UI held the Tarhib Ramadan 1440 H event. This activity is held annually as part of the celebrations to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.
The event was attended by leaders, teaching staff, administrative personnel, and students within FMIPA UI. Also present was Ms. Pamela Cardinale, Chairperson of ILUNI FMIPA UI.
The agenda began with the recitation of verses from the Qur’an, followed by a welcome speech from the Dean, a religious lecture (tausiah) by K.H. Abdul Mujib, caretaker of the Assa’adah Islamic Boarding School, Depok, and concluded with a communal prayer, handshaking, and a shared lunch.

The Dean of FMIPA UI, Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris, in his speech, stated that Tarhib Ramadan is a valuable moment for self-reflection, fostering relationships, and forgiving one another, as well as for mentally, spiritually, and intellectually preparing to welcome the esteemed guest, the holy month of Ramadan.
“This is important for us to cleanse ourselves, forgive one another, and prepare ourselves for the meaningful holy month of Ramadan,” said Haris.
On behalf of the leadership, he also apologized to all staff and students, acknowledging that as a leader, he is not free from mistakes and shortcomings.
“Let us all open our hearts and cleanse our minds once again, because as leaders, we certainly have our limitations,” concluded Haris.
