“Employment Policies for the Middle East and North Africa” course available and open for registration

This five-day course explores the challenges of employment creation in the Middle East and North Africa. It examines both demand and supply-side factors and introduces participants to practical policy prescriptions gathered from other country experiences from around the world. The course will examine sector specific growth-employment linkages, along with an analysis of the low-skill, low-productivity, low-wage, sub-par equilibrium that traps a number of countries in the region.

It is designed for mid-to senior-level officials in planning, labor, manpower, education, trade and industry, economy, science and technology, finance ministries, as well as youth leaders, researchers, and academics. Participants should currently be involved in the design and implementation of employment, labor, manpower, education, economic growth, or investment policies.

This course is jointly offered by the World Bank Institute and the IMF Middle East Center for Economics & Finance (CEF).

Expenses covered by CEF or participants: economy air travel, hotel lodging, and per diem.
