Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In relation to hydrometeorological disasters or disasters due to the influence of extreme weather and climate changes, which have occurred in several parts of Indonesia recently, such as the flash flood in Garut on September 20, 2016, the flood in Bandung on October 24, 2016, and the flood in Gorontalo on October 25, 2016, the Indonesian Association of Geophysical Experts (HAGI) feels the need to participate in efforts to socialize disaster mitigation to raise public awareness and knowledge in anticipating disasters caused by extreme climate change. One form of effort to socialize disaster mitigation is by inviting hydrometeorology and disaster mitigation experts and holding a seminar on the potential for hydrometeorological disasters to competent agencies on climate change and disaster mitigation issues. We hope that with this seminar, parties related to disasters and climate change can carry out follow-up mitigation and preparation in facing the possibility of hydrometeorological disasters. This seminar will involve the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) as an institution that has data on hydrometeorology and disaster mitigation experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
