This seminar is part of a series of events&nbsp;<em>\u201c8th&nbsp;Annual Geography Days\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;and the 57th Anniversary of Geography FMIPA UI, in collaboration with the Directorate of Toponyms and Inter-Regional Boundaries of the Directorate General of Regional Administration Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Geospatial Information Agency. This event was opened by Dr. Rokhmatuloh, M.Eng., as Deputy Dean for Field II of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Present as speakers at this seminar were&nbsp;<strong>Dr. Tumpak Haposan S., MA<\/strong>&nbsp;(Director of Toponymy and Inter-Regional Boundaries, Directorate General of Territorial Administration, Ministry of Home Affairs),&nbsp;<strong>Beni Hermawan,<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;S.Si.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;M.Si.<\/strong>&nbsp;(<em>Direktur<\/em>&nbsp;Arrangement of Coastal Areas, Small Islands, Borders, and Certain Areas, Directorate General of Agrarian Affairs, Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning),&nbsp;<strong>Dr. Priyadi Kardono<\/strong>&nbsp;(Geospatial Information Agency),&nbsp;<strong>Prof.Dr.Ir. Hasanuddin Zaenal Abidin, M.Sc.<\/strong>&nbsp;(Dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology, ITB),&nbsp;<strong>,&nbsp;<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Dr.rer.nat. Eko Kusratmoko, M.Si.&nbsp;<\/strong>(Head of the Department of Geography, FMIPA UI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This seminar is based on<em>&nbsp;<\/em>by<em>&nbsp;p<\/em>he issues that arise regarding the issue of territorial boundaries which are currently very vulnerable, especially in the issue of territorial boundaries of villages in Indonesia which can cause negative things. Likewise with territorial boundaries with neighboring countries. Territorial boundaries are vital objects in national development, because the scope of a region or manager's territory which is marked by the existence of clear territorial boundaries reflects the extent to which the authority of the region or manager can be implemented. This is to avoid territorial boundary conflicts between regions or managers. These conflicts are often triggered by the existence of insignificant territorial boundary maps. Realizing the considerable challenges, the Department of Geography will encourage the search for solutions to problems related to territorial boundary maps and toponymic studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants who attended consisted of government, educational institutions, private sector, and individuals who were interested in the theme of Geospatial Information in Border Management. Geospatial information in border management in Indonesia was explored in this seminar and is expected to provide participants with an understanding of the conditions that occur in border areas through geospatial aspects.
