In accordance with the cooperation agreement, both parties will hold maritime and marine safety training activities, including: Basic Safety Training <\/em>(BST), Advanced<\/em> Fire Fighting<\/em> (AFF), dan Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats <\/em>(PSCRB), which is implemented at the Marine Safety and Disaster Training Center, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, at Situ Salam UI. In addition to maritime and marine safety training, this training center also provides basic disaster management training, such as fire extinguishing using a fire extinguisher. blanket<\/em>, Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR) and fire<\/em> hydrant<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The implementation of training activities by the Sinar Poseidon Gupita Training Center will be accompanied by the Marine Study Center of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UI, which is under the auspices of the Special Work Unit of the Institute of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Tito, the head of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the University of Indonesia (UI), welcomed this collaboration. In his remarks, he conveyed that this collaboration demonstrates FMIPA UI's participation in developing high-quality and competent human resources in managing marine resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \"We are very happy with the implementation of this cooperation agreement, where FMIPA UI and Sinar Poseidon Gupita Training Center have been collaborating for approximately 20 years,\" said Dr. Tito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Tito believes this collaboration can also be a strategic step in the promotion of the Master of Marine Science Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, to increase the number of new students. Therefore, he encouraged the Master of Marine Science Study Program team and the Center for Marine Studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, to make optimal use of this opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \"This program has high interest, and we need to find a way to motivate participants to continue their education in the Master of Marine Science Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia. The Coordinator of the Center for Marine Studies and the Head of the Master of Marine Science Program can help promote it to participants,\" he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Echoing Dr. Tito, Evira stated in her remarks, \"This activity is crucial for improving human resource competency, particularly in the maritime and fisheries sector. Anyone working on a ship or engaging in any maritime-related activity must possess the certification we provide.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n Besides that, Evira continued, the collaborative activities between FMIPA UI and her party can be developed in the future, because the competency certification obtained by participants is only valid for up to 5 years, which means that participants must revalidate their competency certificates every 5 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before closing her remarks, Evira stated that her party would assist FMIPA UI in promoting the FMIPA UI Master of Marine Science Study Program to participants through this collaborative training activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Both parties hope that this collaboration will continue and produce reliable human resources in the maritime sector, who are skilled in developing the management of Indonesia's natural resources and marine potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The FMIPA UI Marine Safety and Disaster Training Center at Situ Salam with its facilities is also expected to be utilized more optimally, both for the UI academic community and the general public who are interested in developing maritime human resources, or human resources who are responsive to marine safety and disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also present at this event were Dr. Riani Widiarti, M.Sc.
