The green open area located between the Center of Excellence Building and the Multidisciplinary Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UI \u2013 PT Pertamina (Persero), UI campus, Depok, looked different on Thursday (30\/6).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because on that bright morning, the Occupational Health and Safety (K3L) officers from each department, the security team, and the staff managing facilities and infrastructure in the FMIPA UI environment gathered in the park to conduct training activities on the use of APAR (Light Fire Extinguishers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was held by the K3L FMIPA UI unit to improve emergency response capabilities in the event of a fire and prepare participants to be alert in an emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dean of FMIPA UI Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. was present to convey support and encouragement to the organizing unit and participants in the activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accompanied by the Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Sc., the Dean said, \"The leadership of FMIPA UI has committed to creating a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace. Therefore, based on this commitment, we, through the K3L unit, initiated the implementation of this training.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity presented a fire prevention and emergency response management team from the UI K3L Technical Implementation Unit consisting of Heri Jamal, Untung, Sugino, Malik Ibrahim, and Gumi Mani Saputra as instructors to directly deliver the training materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was delivered interactively, introducing participants to theoretical concepts, application examples, interactive discussions, and hands-on practice during simulations. In addition to how to use a fire extinguisher, participants were also provided with insight into the different types of fire extinguishers and their uses. This is crucial for understanding the appropriate and effective use of each type of fire extinguisher in an emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"We need to know the classes (classes) of fire or the source of the cause of the fire so that the type of APAR used is effective in controlling the fire,\" said Heri Jamal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The implementation of this training is expected to encourage the realization of a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly work environment as per the K3L goals and targets, namely zero injuries, zero occupational diseases and reducing environmental pollution.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
