When we visit a tourist location and encounter a lot of trash, how do we feel? Trash certainly detracts from the beauty and aesthetics of the area. It even threatens the ecosystem by polluting it and being consumed by the biota living there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, birds accidentally take cigarette butts as food for their chicks. In response, several communities have initiated positive initiatives to reduce environmental waste, particularly in tourist areas. These initiatives include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Plogging is the act of picking up trash while jogging. The trash collected is trash found along the jogging route, so the body movement isn't limited to running; it involves bending or squatting to pick up the trash.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The 2-minute beach cleanup movement was initially initiated to reduce beach litter left by visitors. However, this movement can be done anywhere.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Just take 3, that is, take at least 3 pieces of trash at the location we are visiting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Go plastic-straw-free and bring your own food and drink containers. When picnicking in tourist areas, it's best to bring your own food and drink containers that can be refilled when you buy snacks there.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    These movements are very easy to do anywhere and anytime. It would be even more effective if we also encourage our friends to do these movements together and regularly as a contribution to keeping the environment free of waste.
