The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia (UI) once again participated in one of the annual events held by the University of Indonesia, UI Open Days. This eighth event took place over two days, from Saturday (February 29, 2020) to Sunday (March 1, 2020) at the UI campus in Depok.

In this activity entitled "Freedom to Determine Your Future", FMIPA UI appeared in three sessions, namely exhibition, presentation, and parents session.

The exhibition session is the main session in UI Open Days 2020, this session is filled with booths from all faculties, educational programs, and schools at UI, to present accurate information regarding lectures in each faculty at UI starting from D3-S3 programs, to visitors.

Monitoring by the FMIPA UI public relations team, the FMIPA UI undergraduate stand area itself was filled with more than 500 visitors per day, this number was recorded on the attendance list, but there were also quite a few visitors who missed the attendance list.

High school students dominated the number of visitors, although there were also several parents of prospective students, even teachers who visited the FMIPA UI booth.

The most frequently asked information in the booth area included admission routes, tuition fees, study programs (Prodi), and graduate prospects, especially regarding the Actuarial study program.

The number of applicants for the study program, which was officially established at FMIPA UI in 2017, remains very high. And based on data collected by the UI New Student Admissions unit, actuarial science is one of the most stringent study programs at UI with a tightness of 4.41% of the 340 applicants through the SNMPTN pathway with a quota or capacity of 12 students, 11.24% of the 178 applicants through SBMPTN with a capacity of 18 students, and 1.18% of the 1,106 applicants through SIMAK UI with a capacity of 30 students.

Not only in the exhibition session, FMIPA UI also appeared in the parents session at the UI Convention Hall, Depok, Saturday (29/02/2020) through a presentation and socialization delivered by the Dean of FMIPA UI, Dr. Rokhmatuloh, M.Eng.

In his presentation, Dr. Rokhmatuloh, M.Eng., delivered material specifically about FMIPA UI lectures, both academic and non-academic, to the parents of prospective students.

This Parents Session is a new feature of this year's UI Open Days. It's specifically for parents of prospective students. It's hoped that parents will gain a better understanding of the information presented by representatives from each UI faculty/educational program.

In addition to the Dean of FMIPA UI, the Education Manager of FMIPA UI, Dr. Ratna Yuniati filled the presentation session to prospective students on Sunday (March 1, 2020) on the Main Stage of the UI Hall, Depok.

UI Open Days is an activity to introduce educational programs and university entry pathways at UI for prospective students from the Greater Jakarta area and its surroundings, but it does not rule out the possibility of students from outside the Greater Jakarta area.

This event, which was attended by more than 25,000 visitors, presented information about Regular Bachelor's Degree, Parallel Bachelor's Degree, International Special Class Bachelor's Degree, Extension Bachelor's Degree, Vocational (D3) & Postgraduate.

UI Opendays visitors are expected to get a lot of information from trusted sources about SNMPTN, SBMPTN and SIMAK-UI.
