Wednesday (13/9) as many as 88 postgraduate students from FMIPA UI participated in SCeLE training (Student Centered E-Learning Environment) organized by the UI Office of Learning Resources (KSDP). This activity took place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. WIB at the UI KSDP Laboratory, Depok.
This activity is a Distance Education Program Development Training which aims to improve the competence of IT-based course instructors in using SCeLE for learning.
The training was opened by the education manager of FMIPA UI, Dr. Dian Lestari, DEA. Meanwhile, the presentation of material on e-learning and also SCeLE practicum was delivered by Jati Nantiasa Ahmad as a staff member of the Development Technology Division of KSDP UI.
Based on the training evaluation, participants were satisfied with the training and felt they had benefited from it. However, they felt that the one-day training was insufficient to provide a deeper understanding of e-learning.
SCeLE is an application developed by the University of Indonesia. It includes features available in the University of Indonesia's e-learning module, including downloading lecture materials, interactive discussions in forums, quizzes, and submitting assignments as files.
With SCeLE, students can communicate with faculty and other students online. SCele represents a breakthrough for UI in supporting an active learning environment. Important information, such as assignments from faculty and course materials, can be communicated through SCeLE.
