This year, the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, through the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs, is once again organizing the National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad for Higher Education (ON MIPA-PT).
To compete in ON MIPA-PT 2019 Stage II (Regional Level), held today (26/3) through tomorrow (27/3) at Universitas Pancasila, South Jakarta, FMIPA UI sent 23 of its students as part of the UI contingent, along with 4 students from the Faculty of Medicine and 1 student from the Faculty of Engineering. This brings the total UI contingent to 28 students, with 7 students in each field: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
As a show of support for the entire contingent, yesterday (25/3), FMIPA UI, serving as the coordinating faculty for all faculties within UI, held a send-off and briefing for all participants.
The briefing and support were delivered directly by Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris, Dean of FMIPA UI; Dr. Techn. Djoko Triyono, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs I of FMIPA UI; and Dr. Ing. Mohammad Adhitya, Head of the UI Reasoning Activities Subdirectorate.
Previously, the UI contingent had gone through Stage I, which was the UI-level selection process held on February 15 and 19, 2019, at FMIPA UI, with a total of 143 participants.
