FMIPA UI Officially Accepts IAEA Fellow Training Participants in the Field of Radiotherapy Physics from the Republic of Syria

The Center for Medical Physics and Biophysics under the Institute of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, officially received IAEA Fellow training participants from the Republic of Syria in the field of Radiotherapy Physics on Monday (2/9).

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris personally received the participants in Meeting Room A, FMIPA UI Central Administration Building, Depok.

A total of three fellows who are medical physicists from the Hospital in Damascus and the calibration institution will participate in training for 2 months at CMPB UI, the PTKMR BATAN calibration center, the RSCM Radiotherapy Department and the MRCCC Radiotherapy Department.

Meanwhile, another fellow will follow to take part in training in the field of Brachytherapy Physics starting October 1, 2019.

Head of the Center for Medical Physics and Biophysics Dr. Supriyanto Ardjo Pawiro, revealed that this activity was funded by the International Atomic Energy Agency through the Department of Technical Cooperation with the Indonesian government through the National Nuclear Energy Agency,

This activity, continued Supriyanto, was the first time for Indonesia to host international training participants from the IAEA in the field of Medical Physics specializing in Radiotherapy.
