FMIPA UI Holds Pre-Graduation Ceremony for Even Semester of Academic Year 2023/2024, Graduates 703 Students

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), on Wednesday (14/8/2024) held a Pre-Graduation event for graduates of the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, at the Prof. Dr. Ir. Soemantri Brodjonegoro Hall, FMIPA UI Campus, Depok. The procession led by the Dean of FMIPA UI Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. was attended by all leaders in the FMIPA UI environment. Starting from the Chair of the Council of Professors, Chair and Secretary of the Faculty Academic Senate, Vice Deans, Managers and Heads of Academic Quality Assurance Units, as well as Heads of Departments, Heads of Study Programs, to Heads of Special Work Units.

This semester, FMIPA UI graduated 703 students consisting of 611 undergraduate graduates, 83 master's graduates, and 9 doctoral graduates.

"Congratulations to the success of the graduates of the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs who have completed their education at our beloved campus, FMIPA, University of Indonesia," said Prof. Dede starting his speech.

He also expressed his gratitude to the ranks of Professors, the Academic Senate, the Heads of Departments and Heads of Study Programs, the Lecturers, and the Education Personnel who have helped and guided the FMIPA UI students towards their proud graduation.

In particular, the Dean also commended the graduates who achieved the highest honors, namely those who earned cum laude and summa cum laude. Of the 703 graduates across all levels of education who graduated this semester, 186 earned cum laude honors, and 17 earned summa cum laude honors.

At the undergraduate level, the summa cum laude graduate with the highest GPA of 3.98 was achieved by Jesaya Christian Ido Raja Situmeang from the physics study program, while at the master's level, the summa cum laude graduate with the highest GPA of 4 was achieved by Faiz Ainur Razi and Zeveliano Zidane Barack from the mathematics study program, Muhamad Yasin Yunus Bin Imam Cholil and Muhammad Ridwan from the physics study program, and Ayu Mulia Sundari from the biology study program. While at the doctoral level, the summa cum laude predicate with the highest GPA of 4 was achieved by Idra Herlina from the chemistry study program, and Dicky Rezky Munazat from the materials science study program.

In addition, the cum laude predicate from the undergraduate level with the highest GPA of 3.89 was achieved by Irene Devina Putri and Russel Obaja from the actuarial science study program. Furthermore, the cum laude predicate with the highest GPA of 3.93 from the master's level was achieved by Fadhila Friany Putri from the physics study program. While from the doctoral level, the cum laude recipient with the highest GPA of 3.94 was achieved by Fathan Bahfie from the materials science study program.

He hopes that the graduates will continue to develop their potential to become outstanding scientists, who can make FMIPA UI the backbone of research and innovation development, in order to lead Indonesia to achieve the ideals of a golden Indonesia 2045.

"The role and contribution of alumni will continue to be needed by FMIPA UI in improving the ranking and reputation of our beloved Faculty on the world stage," he said.

The series of FMIPA UI Pre-Graduation activities were closed with a photo session of the graduates with the Dean individually, and a group photo session with the leaders and colleagues from the same study program.
