The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) through the Department of Physics in collaboration with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) held a meeting for monitoring and evaluation (Monev) of the achievements of the postgraduate education program cooperation for the Even Semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, on Thursday (August 29, 2024). This Monev is conducted to identify the progress of lecture activities, the academic achievements of BMKG staff who are currently pursuing their studies in the postgraduate program of the Department of Physics FMIPA UI, while also improving the quality of the education program conducted by the Master's and Doctoral Programs in Physics at FMIPA UI.
A total of 30 BMKG employees are participating in this cooperation program, consisting of 18 doctoral students in Physics, 11 master's students in Physics, and 1 master's student in Geography. They are being prepared to become outstanding graduates who can enhance the capacity and quality of human resources performance in various units within BMKG.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at UI, Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., expressed gratitude to the BMKG Training Center for the trust given to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at UI up to this point.
“We are very grateful for the trust that BMKG has placed in us so far. This cooperation program is an extraordinary mandate for us to contribute to enhancing the competence and capacity of BMKG staff. We believe that through in-depth evaluation, we can continue to refine and strengthen this program to achieve better results,” said Prof. Dede.

Dr. Nelly, who previously served as the Head of the Education and Training Center of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), also expressed hope that through this monitoring and evaluation activity, the partnership between BMKG and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of UI will not only become stronger but also encourage broader advancements in science and technology, as well as improve the quality of services provided to the community.
With solid commitment and cooperation, it is hoped that this program will continue to produce outstanding graduates with high competitiveness, who in turn will significantly contribute to improving the quality of services and research at the BMKG.

We hope that through this monitoring and evaluation, we can achieve optimal results and continue to strengthen our partnership in advancing knowledge, technology, and service to the community," he said.

The evaluation and reporting of student learning achievements from BMKG was presented by the Head of the Master’s Program in Physics, Adhi Harmoko Saputro, M.Kom., Ph.D., in front of the BMKG training staff and mentors. He reported in detail the achievements of each student, starting from their academic performance (credit hours and semester), publication achievements, to the presentation of research progress.
He also provided input to the BMKG/students regarding the fulfillment of graduate quality standards such as improving journal review skills, sharpening analysis of findings encountered during research, and writing scientific journals.
In addition to Monitoring and Evaluation of Educational and Research Achievements, the scope of the collaboration in the postgraduate education program between FMIPA UI and BMKG consists of academic and student guidance, research assistance, support for scientific publication preparation, advanced programming workshops, and scientific writing workshops.
Present at this event from the FMIPA UI side were Dr. Dewi Susiloningtyas, MSi. (Student Affairs Manager), Dr. Lukmanda Evan Lubis, M.Si. (Cooperation, Venture, and Alumni Relations Manager), Fakhrur Rizqi, S.Sos. (Human Resources Manager), Mohammad Hidayat, S.Sos. (General and Facilities Manager), and the relevant unit coordinators.
Also present were the supervising faculty team of the postgraduate program from the Department of Physics FMIPA UI, namely Dr. Djati Handoko, Dr. Supriyanto A Pawiro, Dr. Santoso Soekirno, Dr. Martarizal, and Dr. Imam Fachruddin.
Meanwhile, from the BMKG side, the leadership team of the Pusdiklat was present, including Adityawarman, S.Si, MM, Nina Amelia Sasmita, M.Si, and Septian Bagus Wibisono, M.T.I. As well as the guiding team consisting of Dr.-Ing. Benyamin Heryanto R., S.Si, M.Si, Donaldi S. Permana, Ph.D., Dr. Sigit Pramono, Dr. Widada Sulistya, DEA.
