Chrissy Fransisca, a UI Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences alumna, competes in the 2022 Puteri Indonesia Pageant.

Chrissy Fransisca, commonly known as Ichi, is a top 45 finalist in the Puteri Indonesia 2022 national beauty pageant representing Banten Province. She was selected as Puteri Indonesia Banten 2022 through a national audition held at Graha Mustika Ratu, South Jakarta, on January 12-13, 2022.

Chrissy Fransisca Olivyana Rugian, whose full name is Chrissy Fransisca Olivyana Rugian, is an alumna of the undergraduate chemistry program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia. She was accepted into the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, through the SIMAK UI entrance exam in 2014 and completed her education in 2018.

The 24-year-old beauty continued her education by pursuing a Master's degree in Biochemical Engineering at University College London and graduated in 2021, with a final design project entitled "Design Project for Adenovirus-Based COVID-19 Vaccine Production with Modular Automation Manufacturing."

To the FMIPA UI public relations team, Ichi said that since 2016 he has liked the world of communication and public speaking After becoming the University of Indonesia's Public Relations Ambassador that year, Ichi said that experience provided significant opportunities for him to host events at both the national and international levels. He has even earned his Master of Ceremony (MC) certification since 2017 and has hosted events with audiences from over 50 countries.

This girl who loves badminton and basketball has also won the title of Deputy 1 Nong South Tangerang (Tourism Ambassador) and Favorite Nong Banten Province (Tourism Ambassador) 2015. Apart from that, Ichi has many other achievements.

In addition to these achievements, Chrissy Fransisca O. Rugian also pioneered a platform called Curies Us which focuses on addressing the underrepresentation of women in the field of science and empowering them through information and knowledge.

Ichi urged young Indonesians to contribute together as drivers of national sustainability by implementing knowledge in their respective fields. He hoped that any field of expertise could become a strong foundation for Indonesia's rich natural and cultural potential.

"I urge my fellow young people, no matter how small our efforts, we can contribute to the nation's sustainability. One way is by loving Indonesia's diverse nature and culture, each in our own way. Whatever field we pursue, may it become a foundation for the preservation of nature and culture. Let's continue to increase our participation and dedication in maintaining Indonesia's integrity," he said.

For your information, in this 25th edition of the beauty pageant, Ichi competed against her junior from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, Bella Hena, in the top three finalists at the provincial level. Bella is currently a sixth-semester undergraduate student in geography.
